Gym Rules

  • Be on time for class. Respect our time and those of your classmates.
  • Try. Never say “I can’t.” Self-pity accomplishes nothing.
  • Scale appropriately. There is always someone out there who is bigger, faster and stronger than you. If you can’t do the workout safely as Rx, scale it. Ask your coach if you are uncertain how to do so.
  • Be smart. Our workouts are tough. If you need to back off, or feel uncomfortable, do so and tell your coach.
  • Don’t be a slob. This is your house. Respect it. Clean up your weights, sweat, tape, chalk, and anything else that you use.
  • Respect the equipment. Only drop when it’s completely necessary to do so. When you drop your bar, follow it. NEVER drop an empty barbell.
  • Communicate. Comments? Suggestions? Concerns? Let’s hear them. Also, let us know if something is broken or needs to be repaired or replaced.
  • Be part of the CFZ Community. Introduce yourself to everyone you don’t know. Post WOD results on our website. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter. The more involved you are, the more you will enjoy your experience here.
  • Don’t take shortcuts. Use full range of motion and only count legit reps. You’re only cheating yourself if you do otherwise.
  • Be consistent. Don’t expect immediate results. There is no easy way to become strong or fit. It takes work. Come to class on a regular basis and you will perform and feel better.
  • Don’t worry about how you look. Worry about how you perform.
  • Dress comfortably. We’re all about performance and results here.
  • Have fun. This is a must. If you don’t enjoy what you do, you won’t be doing it for long.
